Celebrity Halloween

We love to dress up, but who else would go all out on Halloween? Celebrities of course! With money and designers at their fingertips here's what some of them came up with!

Heidi Klum dressed up for her annual Halloween party at Tao in the Venetian.

Kim Kardashian as Poion Ivy! I love this costume, she looks great!

Gwen Stefani as Cinderella!

Rose McGowan in a pretty historical number, could have done without the mustache though...

AnnaLynne McCard looking lovely in another historical number!

Jenna Bush as Frida Kahlo. I just think this was great because it's more original and she managed to make it very recognizable!

Kelly Ripa & Nick Lachey as Kim K & Kris Humpries! Funny!

Matt Lauer & Ann Curry as Prince William & Kate!

And of course, my favorite, Kathy Lee Giffod and Hoda Kotb as Royal Wedding attendees!

Hope your Halloween is especially spooky!!

On the Market

Our house is officially on the market!
We met with our realtor Wednesday night, the house was listed on the market this morning. We move in 3 weeks. How great would it be to have an offer before that?! She already has a potential buyer interested in the house. It's just about everything he needs, except no basement. Hopefully that's not the deal breaker for anyone. Since we've lived there we built a storage shed out back that has ample storage space. We also added pretty french doors off the master bedroom, who wouldn't love that?!

Here's some of the listing photos
I'm such a perfectionist sometimes that I'm not totally happy with these photos. The quality and angles are good but I think I could have made the house look better. My sewing room (the brown wall with vintage sewing machine, etc) is waayy too cluttered. Probably because that's sort of the catch all craft room. I just hope someone will see and love this house as much as we have!

Wish us luck!

DIY Home Decor - $3 Goodwill Find!

So I've mentioned earlier I had 2 DIY projects going on. Well here's one of them. It's been done for a little while but I kept forgetting to take my after pics! Plus I've been mega busy working on my other project which is reupholstering a chair (Aghhhhhh!!!)

I got this clock at Goodwill for $3. I thought the shape was awesome and with a new color it would fit perfectly in my Coastal/Rustic/Contemporary home decor!

Here's the before....

I started out sanding it down a little....

Then I painted it a taupe color for the base as I tried to decide how I was going to achieve my desired effect....

Here's my after photos!!

I took 2 different grades of sand paper and just started sanding. I was nervous I would screw it up, but I think it turned out pretty good for my first project like this. Small but successful!!

A BIG move. Houston!

I am happy to announce that Corey & I will be moving to Houston, Texas on November 18th!!!
We are excited about this change and look forward to our future in a new location! We will miss all of our friends and family in Missouri dearly!
I accepted a job at a company down there and I'm thrilled to be leaving right before the dreadful Missouri winter!

Thinking about Houston I had to do a little Pinterest searching for fun images to inspire me while I pack!

So....can I pull off the cowgirl look down there? What do you think?
I'll need a good hat...

Some cowgirl boots?

Some southern sweet tea?

Trips to Galveston Beach?
Can't wait!!!

The more important question is....

Yikes! Let's leave the one alone...

Fall Weekend Fun!

Saturday night we went to an awesome bonfire! It was at my brother's property, he's building his own house! No house yet but plenty of space to have an awesome night! He's got his huge fancy grill out there, patio table with chairs, hammocks, a tent for when they want to stay out there. There's even a nice wall of firewood to give me some privacy when I've had too much to drink! :)
He grilled pork burgers, chicken, pork chops, zuchinni. He also made his delicious macaroni salad! Yay! After we ate we roasted marshmellows!

Sunday we spent cleaing up our house - it was in bad need of a fall cleaning! Also we made chili...yummm! I love chili! I also love adding fresh chopped red onion to it right before I eat it!
I've been working on reupholstering a chair, I'm in the middle of it, yesterday I hit a bump in the road, but I think I've made it over and it's just a matter of finding the time it takes to get it completed! Hopefully soon!!

Hope everyone had a spectacular weekend!

Flea Market Finds!

This weekend I spent some time garage saling and flea marketing!
I found some really spectacular antique items to decorate with!

First I found this old horse yoke, for only $2!
(they are selling on ebay for up to $50)

Along with the yoke I found this old iron with a wooden handle, also for $2.

I found two antique onion crates, they were originally asking $10 each, and I snagged them for $5 for the pair! What a deal!!

I also got this cutting board for $1, I think it will make a great base for a cool vintage sign create with some stenciling.

I haven't figured out exactly where and how I'll use them, but I'm so excited about them. I feel like the yoke would make a great mantle piece, but I have no mantle. The crates will be great decorative storage, but they aren't the sturdiest so I'll have to be careful. The iron will definitely be part of my sewing room decor!
Love finding someone's junk and turning it into my treasure! All of this for only $10!
