MIA & a few of my favorite things...

So sorry I've been MIA lately!
I've been keeping very busy and I have to say I'm feeling pretty good!
I've gotten fairly settled into my new job and I'm rather liking it. It's definitely still a big change, but it's nice to have something new now that I'm not freaking out!
Why did I freak out so much? I really don't know why I felt like it was the end of the world for a bit, but my brother-in-law would just blame it on the fact that I'm a woman. Hmmm.
My commute is still ridiculously long but I'm even getting more used to that. It keeps me in touch with all my friends and family as I have a lot of phone time to talk!

(Inserting the invitation for any of my friends to call me between 7-8am & 4:30-5:15pm)

Later this week we are headed up to good 'ol Missouri to celebrate Christmas with family! It will be nice to see more familiar faces and places! I even get to sleep in my house which I'm looking forward to enjoying for a few more days. (It's still on the market and still not sold....grrrr)

Here are a few of my favorite things from Pinterest lately...

Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister

SISTERS, SISTERS There were never such devoted sisters. Ring a bell? It should. A holiday bell, to be specific, since those are the opening lyrics to perhaps the most memorable song from White Christmas.

This is the theme song for me and my sisters. We love singing it and watching the movie!
Here's some stills from the movie...

And the song for your listening pleasure...

Some of my favorite lines from the song:

"Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing"

"Those who've seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us"

"Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister
And lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man"

I'm enjoying being closer to my sisters. No matter our little squabbles we are very close and I couldn't imagine life without them!

Head on over to Barefoot and Beautiful to check out my sister's blog!

It's beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS!

I love Christmas! My house is usually decorated in blues, turquoise, teal, silver, etc.
This pictures inspire me to decorate! Although I won't have my own home this Christmas I'll get to help my sis decorate her house and I'm sure that will be almost equally as fun! :p

Back to Work. Monday's recap.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

This weekend was good and things are feeling a little better. We celebrated my brother-in-law's birthday with a night out with friends at a pizza place. We also got him a DQ ice cream cake! We also made some good progress on my sister & brother in laws house! We can now use the kitchen, our bathroom has had one coat of paint and should be useable in the next few days. We have unpacked more and just feel a bit more settled. Corey & and are still trying to settle into the differences of our new jobs. They both come with major differences and adjustments but we are thankful to both have work so we don't have to stress about money on top of everything else!

I've been to Liz's church with her the past two weeks and I feel like I'm hearing things in a whole new way lately. I have been trying to really listen and apply things to my life. I feel a little more at peace with everything as each day passes.

I miss all my MO friends and life a bunch still, but things don't feel so desperately terrible anymore.
Lol. I guess I'm a drama queen sometimes? Nah... :D

Back to work today...another week to learn something new and stretch myself.
Wish me luck!

A Night Out For Breaking Dawn!

Went to see Breaking Dawn finally! Liz and I before we head out.
