Cabinet DIY

The before pictures....ugly color and banged up!

Lots of scratched spots...

Boring handles...

After breaking the glass out with a hammer and a lot of muscle I had to fill in the gap.

I painted a base coat of Valspar's Thorny Brush:

Then used Valspar's Careless Whisper mixed with water for the white wash. I painted the mixture on and let it sit for a moment, then wiped off all excess with a rag.

Here I'm stapling on the chicken wire to the doors.

And....VOILA!!! It's finished!!!

Handles found on clearance at Hobby Lobby for $1.39 a piece!

Close up on the white washed finish....

Used the original hinges, but they were solid black so I lightly misted them with gold & white spray paint to help them blend in.

And with a little decor...

Loving my new cabinet! As usual I just wish I had a house to put it in! At least I know I'll have some good decor when I get a place!! Addicted to chicken wire now too!
