Shabby Chic Child's Desk

Another refinishing project!
I got this cute little desk from a client. She needed it refinished for her daughter's room.
Here's the before . . . pretty beat up and NOT in the cute way!

Sanding through 3 colors of paint, about 6 coats. FUN! (not)

View of the before top:

Here's the after!
Freshly painted white with some distressing on the edges.

If you remember the little dresser from a couple of months ago (see below) This desk was made to match!
The little girl loved her little desk and said, "It's so cute, she painted everything, even the coloring marks!"

Happy to please that sweet little girl!

Pinterest DIY Salt & Pepper Shakers

I finally got around to creating something I saw on Pinterest!

Here's my inspiration photo:
I'm prepped with newspaper, sandpaper, paintbrush, paint, and my garage sale found salt & pepper shakers!

(My hubby helped me sand!!)

One coat of paint:
(Behr flat paint, in Soft Rhapsody. I actually wanted satin and thought all sample jars came in satin but apparently not! Realized it was flat when I got home...but I think it still looks good.)

I used Minwax Finishing Paste Wax as a finishing/protective coat.

I love my new salt & pepper shakers!!
