Amazing Answers

It has been a constant amazement lately as to how God really does answer prayers!

I've never doubted that he does, but when I was younger I never really saw "results". Mind you...I was probably praying for a new toy, for some guy to like me back, or for more money...

In the past three months I've learned to bring ALL my thoughts and cares to him.

Lately I've had a rough time... leaving friends, a house, a sense of security ...all behind in STL.
I've brought my fears, worries, and problems to him asking for help to endure them, wisdom to fix them, or whatever he might have in store for me. Today I was really blessed with the beginning of a possibly big solution to a rather cumbersome issue that has been weighing heavily on me.
Today was just the beginning and I can't wait to see what else he has in store for me! I know that if I have the patience he will provide me with what I need!

Here's a few inspirational photos I found while scanning Pinterest!

European Inspired Home Furnishings: Ballard Designs

I've mentioned before some of the decor styles I love.
I'm not sure if ya'll have heard of Ballard Designs but if not, you need to know about them. The have a style that mixes Restoration Hardware with Pottery Barn or something. I started getting their catalog in the mail and just love looking through it!!

Right now Corey & I are living with my sister. Our house is trying to sell up in St. Louis... It's been on the market for 91 days... We are getting showings, but all comments are:
"House showed well, is very cute but buyers wants a lower level"
"House is very cute and shows well...buyer did not like location"
"Buyer just starting search, house showed good"
"client liked the home and thought it was beautifully renovated. She felt it was too small for her needs"
"Beautiful home. This was buyers' first time looking at homes. They definitely decided they need a basement"
"This inside of this house showed the best of any of the houses we looked at yesterday. Really nice inside. The client is thinking she needs a lower level though. Thank you."

These comments frustrate me so much! If they all think the house is so cute why the heck won't someone just buy it?!?! Until our house sells we absolutely won't be able to get our own place. Living with my sis is great, but I miss having my own space and decorating in my own stuff.
Hope you enjoy the lovely items from Ballard Designs that I can't buy because I can't decorate. Sadness fills my heart!

Exploring Houston

This weekend I was so excited to get out a little and explore Houston! Our first stop was the Montrose area for facials and some shopping! Montrose has some excellent little antique places, and this one really Caught My Fancy
Pardon the pun, I couldn't resist!

Here's some of the lovely things I found there...

After that we headed to Buffalo Exchange...

Then on to Midtown for drinks!

Here's my sis and I with a little view of downtown Houston.

Enjoying a drink on the patio of Celtic Gardens.
Yes, the weather was 70+ degrees that day. Be jealous all your Midwestern or Northerners! :)

I love getting to explore Houston and hope to keep it up! I plan on sharing all my new discoveries with you so come back soon!

Golden Gowns

I hope you all were able to catch the Golden Globes this Sunday!
I love awards show season and am looking forward to this one! Here are some of my favorites!

Reese looked fabulous on the red carpet in this red sweetheart neckline mermaid style!

Emma is one of my favorite actresses and I loved her classic look!

Michelle looked so humble, simple and lovely!

Some hated, but I loved Sarah in this tie dye number. I love a print and something different on the red carpet!

My absolute favorite of the Golden Globes was the stunning Kate Beckinsale. She looked so elegant in this pale gown with lots of bling and a bare neck.

Who was your favorites?

P.S. I apologize for the post on out of the ordinary for me! :/

I'm a TEXAN! could argue I am a good luck charm for sports...I live in STL, the Cardinals win the World Series...
I move to Houston and look at those Texans!! Woo hoo!! Tomorrow the Texans play the Ravens, here's to hoping they win!!

Now most of you know I'm really not a sports kind of girl. My sister's mother in law is in town doing some faux finishes in her house and guess what? Turns out she's a football fanatic. So football is on my mind and that's what ya'll are going to get!

We wanted Tebow and the Broncos to win tonight but sadly the Patriots won. Congrats to all you Ton Brady fans!

Girls Night Out

Saturday night I went out with my sister and her friends.
Her boyfriend is a bouncer at a Houston club and he set us up with the royal treatment as we had a fun girls night out!

I had lots of fun and it was nice to switch up my usual weekend activities!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!

A Christmas Vacation and Blog-cation.

During my Christmas vacation I accidentally took a blog-cation as well.
I hope you all didn't mind! :)

My "vacation" was hardly that...
Day 1: (23rd) Drive from Houston to St. Louis
Day 2: Running errands, Christmas Eve Candlelight service @ church
Day 3: Christmas! Picked up my hubby at the airport then visited a total of 3 families/houses!
Day 4: Christmas with my family...presents, the meal, etc. Dinner with the in-laws
Day 5: Packing our house, Gametime with the family, holiday party with friends
Day 6: Pack up my entire house and load it into the moving truck
Day 7: Drive from St. Louis to Houston, unload half the moving truck

So, we finally moved all our belongings to Texas with us. That's right. We're committing to this move!
I was incredibly overwhelmed as we were trying to load everything up as I didn't feel prepared, I didn't have as much packed up as I wanted/needed. Thank goodness my sis was there to help me get organized and do some of the cleaning while the men loaded up everything.
Now most of my stuff is in one sisters house/garage while the rest is in the other sister's house/garage that we are living at. I need to organize and unpack everything I need soon. She needs her garage, and I need a non-chaotic life!

Christmas was great, loved seeing my family even though it felt quick. Got some awesome gifts! My hubby got me my fav Victoria Secret perfume: Sexy Little Things, a VS sleepshirt, a whole set of Mandarin Mint scented products from Ulta and every nail care tool possible from Sally Hansen!

So add in a few days after that for recovery and general zombie like acts like sleeping, lounging, eating and we're pretty much caught up!

Here's some pictures of our Christmas. Me & my sister's modeling our exciting new snuggies. My hubby, Corey & I opening presents, Corey thrilled with his new gifts..., and me trying on my new scarf!

Happy New Year!!
