Nights of Turquoise

Turquoise...that's what my nights are full of!!
Another project to re-finish in the Cozumel turquoise color.

Originally my client thought she would need to purchase new knobs. As they were wooden knobs painted a metallic bronze. I suggested that I try to paint them and see how they look. I use an oil rubbed bronze spray paint and they looked awesome on the turquoise. Needless to say, she was happy with the results and happy not to have to buy new knobs!

 Another awesome transformation!

Exploring Castle Ruins at Sunrise

On our trip to MO we decided to make a last minute stop at Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Camdenton, TX
Ha Ha Tonka State Park is home to castle ruins from 1905. We arrived there at 6:45am. It was very cold, but really beautiful. Here are some pictures.

First you can see the water tower, which was burned by vandals in 1976, only the stone walls remain.

Then we head over to the castle.
Here are some pictures of it still in tact.

Then when it was on fire. (In the 40's)

And today . . .

The interior of the castle.

Such beauty!
The sunrise coming through was awesome!

Over looking the Ozarks...the fog was neat!

And the tip of the lake of "Lake of the Ozarks"

One last shot if the sun peaking through the ruins.

Charred stone from the fire.

All photos taken by Jennifer Leible

Corey & I both went there when we kids but could hardly remember it. It was neat to go back and see the beautiful park and ruins. I love exploring historical buildings!
Check out the wikipedia page for more history on this castle's beginnings.

Birthday Weekend #2

I feel pretty special to have people help me celebrate my birthday 2 weekends in a row!
My sister, Elle @ Barefoot and Beautiful planned and decorated this wonderful birthday brunch for me!

Here's some of the decor:

Then the food:

Here she is prepping!

Doesn't it all look delish? It was!

Guests arrived and I got to show them around my house and talk about all the projects we've done!

Time to eat! :)

Such great friends, they even help clean up!

We played a silly game that was fun.

Trying to justify one of my answers!

Time for presents!! These girls got me some awesome gifts! Every one of them was so well thought about and were things I LOVED!
Not pictured...I got 2 hibiscus plants!! So excited to plant those!

A blogging magazine from fellow blogger Bree @ The Thing About Joy
I've never read this magazine so I was super excited!

Check out this little video that my sister's Mother in Law made for me! It's a cute way to remember this fun day!

Birthday Weekend #1

My 27th birthday was April 27th...my golden birthday! Yay! It fell on a Saturday, which was awesome. My sister Liz @Barefoot And Beautiful drove up to my house to go garage saling and antiquing! I didn't find much at the garage sales that day. However, I fell in love with this antique shop that I've always wanted to visit!
It's located on Jones Rd near 1960. Here's the front, you can't miss it!

We got there before it opened at 10am, and began talking with one of the vendors there. He was so excited that it was our first time there, he gave us 20% off on a reclaimed bookshelf I was eying! Here it is:

And here is a not so great picture of it in my house!
I'm LOVING this shelf and the reclaimed wood looks awesome with the frame above it!

After that we headed out to Plantersville, TX. We stopped for lunch at a local spot, The Relay Station. It was a cute place to eat with some great rustic decor! I was loving this wagon wheel mason jar chandelier!

A local man saw that we were celebrating my birthday and even paid for our lunch! So sweet, I love small towns!

The Relay Station is home of a food challenge. You must eat an 85 oz sirloin, including a baked potato and salad bar withing 75 minutes!
If you're eating like a king you get to feel like one too, you get to sit in this chair while participating in the challenge.

And the wall of fame for those who succeeded!

Next we went to Bernhardt Windery (oops...the flag cut off the T)

The beautiful entrance to the winery.

Ready to Taste!

Our tasting list. We were able to try 6 wines for $5, plus a freebie as they were featuring a new wine that month!

We all settled on the Blanc Du Bois sweet. It was perfectly refreshing for the Spring weather!

View from the winery

That evening (among the downpour happening) my hubby took me out to eat at Don Julio's.
We enjoyed Fajitas for two!

All in all it was a wonderful birthday! I enjoyed every moment of it!
Stay tuned for Birthday Weekend #2. My sister threw me an amazing birthday brunch!!
You don't want to miss those pictures!!
