A Few Old Treasures

A few weeks ago I posted about a reclaimed wood shelf I got for my birthday. Here's a few more pics now that it's more decorated.

During our trip to Missouri we visited the Wentzville Flea Market...the best flea market in all of MO. Every Sunday from 6am - noon. Man do I miss that place! I need to find the TX equivalent!

I got a few books while I was there, to add to my shelf. 2 books for $1

I had been wanting an old kitchen scale for a while now. I finally found one!!
I'm in love with my "Columbia Family Scale". It's perfectly rusty and I love the patina.
It was marked $24 and I got it for $18. I think that was a fair price.

Who knows . . . I may even use it cooking someday! It still works!

I also found these old jars. They are mason jars but the really old kind. The jar on the left is marked from 1855. The jar on the right is marked with a company from St. Louis. I loved the idea of having some good antique St. Louis memorabilia!

This little booklet cracked me up, for $3 I thought I had to have it!
I researched it and the book dates back to 1922.

A little excerpt . . .
you really should read this, so funny!

Lastly, after my work moved out of their old building they allowed me to have their old time card holders. They are at least 50 years old, but not sure exactly how old.
I'm loving the vintage look! I don't know what to do with them yet.
Does anyone have ideas for me?!

Hope you enjoyed seeing all of the new to me, old treasures!!
I loved adding them to my decor!

Love the old kitchen scale!! Also like the card holders! I mentioned on facebook what to do with them!
Verse card holders or recipe cards! I even like the look without painting them! Look so cool!
