From Dark to Bright: Window Treatments

You know when you buy a house and the window treatments are often left with the house?
Well in this case I wish they weren't...

These drapes are very traditional, dark, and just not my style. We had to leave them up as the sun rises on that side of the house and sometimes we like to sleep past the sunrise... :)

We ordered our custom blinds from
Please note they didn't sponsor this post...

We have been ordering from them for all 3 of our houses and they have a great affordable product. We always use their 2" Faux Wood Blinds in white. They give a clean and wonderful look to a window that is affordable, easy to install and easy to use.

The left cord is an easy tilt open and close. I love this a lot more than the twist rod!

This dresser was the one I refinished 2 years ago. You can see that post here.

This chair has been a favorite of mine for a long time. It used to be extra seating in my living room and is now a great chair for my bedroom. Perfect to use while putting on shoes, or laying out my clothes for the next day! You can read about my chair makeover here.

This mirror was a garage sale find and finished in a dark taupe paint called Channel Seal Brown. The dried flowers were from Hobby Lobby and have withstood 3 moves! I love how they look in front of the mirror. The whites, creams, and taupe's are a lovely palate and really relax me!

I hope you enjoyed seeing our windows go from dark to bright! Can't wait to find curtain rods and hang the curtains to soften it all up a bit!
